New P.R. poll, Hill 51% Obama 38%

Wed May 28, 2008 at 12:27:41 PM PDT

This is probably the only poll ever taken in Puerto Rico about the Democratic presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. It just came out today. It was done by Univision and El Vocero (a Puerto Rican news paper). Here's the link
to all the details of the poll, in Spanish, sorry.

Here's the front page of the paper

If Clinton really gets ahead in the popular vote because of P.R., can she persuade the SD's to vote for her instead?

help me convince a republican

Sat May 03, 2008 at 12:05:08 PM PDT

I have this friend who is a republican. He's angry at Bush and the republican party. But there are two reasons why he says he would never vote for a democrat. The reasons are: the abortion issue, and higher capital gains taxes.

Puerto Rico...Obama's spoiler?

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 10:09:18 PM PDT

I'm just a political rookie, not a pro as most here, but hey, I'm learning. Something that attracted my attention in today's Olbermann show, Chuck Todd and Keith mentioned something about "2 million voters in the Puerto Rico primary". Puerto Rico's population is over 4 million, I'd say about 3 million are eligible voters, but let's for now say 2 million.
I'm from P.R. but don't live there anymore, I know that we always get HUGE turnouts. Something like 90% for the general elections. Election day in P.R. is a holiday just like Christmas day or New Year's, nobody works, so everybody goes to the polls. June 1st happens to be a Sunday, (oh boy, I'd say 99% turnout, I know my people, we LOVE politics, LOL).

whites chanting "si se puede"? WOW!!!

I just realized this (maybe I'm dreaming, or drunk), but something special happened at the Bill Richardson endorsement of Obama rally that made me think some things in this country really are changing.

Barack's possible major issue with Latinos

Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 06:04:52 PM PDT

I'm Puerto Rican, but live in the DC area, a big Obama supporter/donor. Over the past few days I've been talking to some Latino friends in Texas and Puerto Rico. I've been telling them about Obama, about why to vote for him. Most of them think Obama is a Muslim, no joke.
